PGLU CONDUCTS CONSULTATIVE DIALOGUE ON LOCAL HISTORY IN EDUCATION

With the aim to identify priority interventions, validate plans and explore future cooperation among key stakeholders, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the La Union Provincial Tourism Office (LUPTO) โ€“ Culture and Arts Section conducted a consultative dialogue on local history with partner agencies in education on April 21, 2021 via video conferencing.

La Union Sustains Living Shorelines

In its bid to promote ecological integrity and clean and healthy environment through the La Union #KalikasanNaman campaign, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) SCUBA Diving Team assisted in the successful deployment of 70 units of Artificial Reef (AR) on April 22 to 28, 2021 in the coastal Municipalities of Balaoan, Bacnotan and San Juan, La Union .

As the Regional Peace and Order Council-1 (RPOC-1) Chairperson, Gov. Francisco Emmanuel โ€œPacoyโ€ R. Ortega III affirmed RPOC-1โ€™s support to fund the Barangay Development Program (BDP) under the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) in response to a query on the defunding of the NTF-ELCAC during the virtual Kapihan sa Ilocos Forum on April 29, 2021.

National Security Adviser Sec. Hermogenes Esperon, Jr. clarified that the it is the BDP that has funding and not the NTF-ELCAC as they tackled Executive Order No. 70, s. 2018 or Whole-of-Nation Approach to End Local Communist Armed Conflict.

PGLU Bolsters Peace, Order; Turns Over 2 Vehicles

In its continuous effort to uphold peace and order in the province amidst the pandemic, The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through Gov. Francisco Emmanuel โ€œPacoyโ€ R. Ortega III donated two pick-up vehicles for the La Union Police Provincial Office (LUPPO) in a simple turn over ceremony of the vehicles on April 27, 2021 at the Provincial Capitol Grounds, City of San Fernando, La Union.

PGLU Now Accepts E-Tax Payment

In its continuous effort to improve ease of transaction and to adopt to the new normal protocols, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) headed by Gov. Francisco Emmanuel โ€œPacoyโ€ R. Ortega III through the Provincial Treasurerโ€™s Office launched a digital tax payment system in the province.

SP REVIEWS PROCESSES, RE-ORIENTED VIRTUALLY

As part of the officeโ€™s wildly important goals (WIGs) for 2021, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Office together with the resource speakers from Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) Offices, Office of the Provincial Prosecutor, and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) conducted a Virtual Orientation Seminar on the Review Process of the SP on April 22, 2021 via video conferencing.

GOV. PACOY PRESIDES PROVINCIAL LOCAL AIDS COUNCIL MEETING

Gov. Francisco Emmanuel โ€œPacoyโ€ R. Ortega III presided the 2021 first quarter meeting of the Provincial Local AIDS Council, on April 15, 2021, held via teleconferencing.
As the chairperson of the council, Gov. Pacoy underscored the importance of monitoring other public health concerns, such as the Human Immunodeficiency Virus – Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS), while the province continues to tackle the most impactful health crisis โ€“ the COVID-19 pandemic.
