Gen Zs, Solid Partners in Building a Stronger La Union

The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) conducted the culminating activity for the Gen Z Time: Empowering the Zoomers for a Stronger La Union through the Presentation, Validation and Awarding Ceremony held via video conference on April 28, 2021.
Eight Gen Z participants from different municipalities of La Union presented their ingenious proposals that are focused on sustainable solutions which address the pressing issues in the Province. Among the recognized proposals were: (1) Tsinelas ni Juan by Angeliquo M. Aberin, Champion; (2) The Green Click Project by Shrine Estrada, 1st Runner Up; and (3) Luna’s Pebble Gem Livelihood Enhancement Program by Jomar B. Gorospe, 2nd Runner Up.
Governor Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III stated, “Your actions, no matter how small, can cause a ripple effect that will make an impact to the world.” Gov. Pacoy also encouraged the Gen Zs to always keep a champion mindset and continue inspiring others, especially the youth, to actively participate in nation building and in making La Union a Province worth living in.
Moving forward, the project proposals shall be reviewed and enhanced for implementation, and be managed by the project proponents and partner offices.
Our Province is a #StrongerLaUnion with our Zoomers, and with each and every Kaprobinsiaan.

PGLU JOINS REGIONAL TOURISM STAT TRAINING

Department of Tourism (DOT) – Office of Tourism Development Planning, Research and Information Management Tourism Operations Officer II Faeroe Jeanne M. Fontanilla addresses the importance of Tourism Statistics to the participants during the Regional Online Basic Tourism Statistics Training (BTST) conducted by the DOT-OTDPRIM in collaboration with the DOT – Region 1 on April 27 – 28, 2021 via video conferencing.

As of April 27, 2021, 11:00 PM, we recorded 100 recoveries. Through our extensive contact tracing and targeted testing efforts, the province has yielded 17 new confirmed CoViD-19 cases.

PGLU Bolsters Peace, Order; Turns Over 2 Vehicles

In its continuous effort to uphold peace and order in the province amidst the pandemic, The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III donated two pick-up vehicles for the La Union Police Provincial Office (LUPPO) in a simple turn over ceremony of the vehicles on April 27, 2021 at the Provincial Capitol Grounds, City of San Fernando, La Union.

PGLU Conducts Environmental Reconnaissance

The Provincial Government – Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) together with the local government unit of San Juan and Multi-Sectoral Governance Council Adviser for Environment, Mr. Ramon “Toby” Tamayo conduct an environmental reconnaissance on April 27, 2021 at Brgy. Dasay and Nagsabaran, San Juan, La Union.

Part of PGLU’s Earth Day celebration, the activity aimed to assess the status of watershed areas and suggest methods on how to restore and rehabilitate these areas to address water shortages in the locality. Mr. Tamayo discussed and emphasized to the community the need to plant more native trees and discourage the planting of invasive species of trees.

PGLU Now Accepts E-Tax Payment

In its continuous effort to improve ease of transaction and to adopt to the new normal protocols, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) headed by Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III through the Provincial Treasurer’s Office launched a digital tax payment system in the province.
