LU Pushes for Economic Recovery through Thrive in La Union Investment Plan

The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the Local Economic Enterprise and Investment Promotions Unit presented the La Union Investment Plan (LUIP): THRIVE in LA UNION to the component Local Government Units on February 15, 2021 via video conference.

The LUIP is the blueprint of the province to foster a conducive investment climate. It contains plans and programs for a Sustainable Investment Development Strategy to Improve Investment Climate, to attract more investors amidst the pandemic and to increase business resilience. The LUIP defines the roles of each key player as PGLU strengthens partnership with them.

The PGLU is focused on the steadfast economic recovery plan and pursues to create sustained and aggressive growth. The priority is to implement projects and programs that will cater to the conduct of necessary technical assistance and capacity building interventions to further encourage investments and economic activities within the Province of La Union.

Leading the economic recovery, the LUIP framework aims to improve quantity and quality of investments generated in the component LGUs. Programs include Investment and Employment Hub, Investment and Employment Portal, Centralized provincial data management, local product development and other partnership with Non-Governmental Organizations, National Line Agencies and the private sector.

CDH for Environmental Preservation

PLANT LOVER, PLANT GIVER. As part of Caba District Hospital (CDH’s) Environmental Preservation and Protection Program and post Valentine’s Day celebration, CDH personnel headed by Chief of Hospital Dr. Gretchen F. Aromin spearhead the Plant Lover, Plant Giver Activity on February 15, 2021 at CDH Atrium, Poblacion Sur, Caba, La Union.

The said activity was participated in by CDH’s “plantitos” and “plantitas” where they shared their plants or cuttings, seedlings and knowledge to other personnel. This activity aims to promote Provincial Government of La Union Environmental advocacies in building a Stronger La Union, a province worth living in.

NEW DPWH DISTRICT ENGR, GOV. PACOY DISCUSS INFRA PROJECTS IN LU

NEW DPWH DISTRICT ENGR FOR LU DEO1. Engr. Jose G. Ginete Jr. pays a courtesy visit to Gov. Pacoy on February 11, 2021, as he now takes the lead at the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) La Union First District Engineering Office (DEO 1) as the new District Engineer. Gov. Pacoy and Engr. Ginete discussed the infrastructure projects in the first district of the province, which will pave the way in building a Stronger La Union, a province worth living in. Joining the courtesy call were Provincial Engr. Ressie Estrella and Isabelo Lopez Jr. of DPWH DEO 1.

Gov. Pacoy Administers Oath of New MSFWD Directors

Pacoy administers the oath of the newly-reappointed Board of Directors (BOD) members of the Metro San Fernando Water District namely Magdalena Japson and Ruth-Jo De Guzman, on February 11, 2021 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.

BDH Celebrates National Dental Health Month

In celebration of the National Dental Health Month, resident dentist Dr. Raul Sagun, of Bacnotan District Hospital demonstrates to the patients and their companions the proper way to brush and care for their teeth on February 11, 2021. Specifically, he informed the adult audience how to keep their aging teeth in good shape.

La Union CoViD-19 Vaccination Centers Readiness Assessed

To check the readiness of the different vaccination centers in the Province of La Union, the CoViD-19 Vaccination Program Task Force (CPV-TF) visits the Rural Health Units (RHUs) and District Hospitals in the province starting with RHUs of the Municipalities of Sudipen, Bangar and Luna on February 10, 2021.

PGLU, PNP Strengthen Civil Security

They discussed the RCSU’s programs to strengthen civil security in the province, as Gov. Pacoy underscored that public safety and peace and order are the building blocks for Transformative Governance and in building a Stronger La Union, a province worth living in.

Coastal LGUs Convene, Strengthen Coastal, Marine Initiative of the Province

PG-ENRO Conducted the 1st Quarter CRM Meeting CY 2021. Representatives from Coastal Local Government Units attend the Coastal Resource Management (CRM) 1st Quarter Meeting facilitated by the Provincial Government – Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) in collaboration with OPAg -Fishery Division and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Conservation and Development Division on February 9, 2021, at the PG-ENRO Conference Room, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union. The meeting aimed to discuss the Coastal and Marine Management Initiatives of the Province.
