OPASS PARTNERS WITH NICA TO RAISE AWARENESS VS. INSURGENCIES

To give awareness and information on the peace and order situation in the province and adjacent neighbors, the Office of the Provincial Assessor organized an online symposium led by the National Intelligence Coordination Council Agency (NICA) – Regional Office I through video conferencing on August 12, 2021 which was participated by the Municipal Assessors Offices and Municipal Agriculture Offices.

In the continuing celebration of the National Quincentennial Commemorations of the Philippines (NQCP) this year, ten visual artists from Northern Luzon artworks are put on exhibit at Dalluyon Cafรฉ Gallery in San Juan, La Union.

The Provincial Government of La Union through the Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved Ordinance No. 317 series of 2021 on August 10, 2021, an ordinance, “Institutionalizing the Social and Sports Development Assistance for the City and Municipalities of the Province of La Union, and Providing Funds, Therefore.”

HEROES HILL, FREEDOM PARK RENAMED TO HEROES PARK

The Provincial Government of La Union has officially renamed the Heroes Hill and Freedom Park to HEROES PARK through Provincial Ordinance 316-2021 approved last August 10, 2021.

Board Member Nancy M. Bacurnay, author of ordinance explained that the Heroes Hill and Freedom Park at the eastern portion of the Capitol Hill feature nine (9) statues of national heroes, signifying the peopleโ€™s reverence for their works and sacrifices in attaining the countryโ€™s freedom.

As a step in the faster attainment of herd immunity in the province, the Provincial Government of La Union, through the directive of Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III, has increased the number of inoculated Senior Citizens (SCs) with 314 SC receiving their first dose during the exclusive vaccination for the said priority group at the Saint Louis College Gym, City of San Fernando, La Union on August 7, 2021.

PGLU Further Ramps Up Numbers of Vaccinated Seniors; Pfizer, Moderna Ready to be administered

Following the acceptance of the Province of La Union of the first batch of Moderna Vaccine comprised of 100 vials equivalent to 1,000 first doses on August 5, 2021, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) is now geared up for the conduct of vaccination of more Senior Citizen on August 7, 2021 at the Saint Louis Gym, City of San Fernando, La Union to increase the number of inoculated kaprobinsiaan from the said priority group.

Gov. Pacoy Presides FSRR-MSAB Meeting

ICYMI: Governor Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III, Chairperson of the First Scout Ranger Regiment Multi-Sectoral Advisory Board (FSRR-MSAB), presides over the board’s 2nd Regular Meeting via video conference on August 5, 2021.
The board discussed the FSRRโ€™s strategic communications plan and provided updates with their initiatives and programs to help the people they serve in their respective areas.
Further, they have also welcomed Regional Director William Beltran from the Philippine Information Agency based in Pampanga as the new member of the FSRR-MSAB.
FSRR-MSAB is tasked to help the Philippine Army’s elite unit in its transformation programs.
Gov. Pacoy Ortega is glad about the partnership with the different stakeholders and other government partners such as the FSSR. Strong ties with various organizations that would benefit not only the Province but with every Kaprobinsiaan towards building a #StrongerLaUnion, province worth living in.
