Agri-Tourism Blooms in 170th La Union Founding Anniversary

AGRI-TOURISM VILLAGE 2020. In celebration of the 170th La Union Founding Anniversary 2020, the Provincial Government of La Union headed by Gov. Pacoy opens the Agri-Tourism Village at the Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union on February 21, 2020. In the same event, the 20 Mutia ti La Union Candidates staged their talents where the Best in Talent will be announced on the Mutia ti La Union 2020 Coronation Night on March 2, 2020 at Poro Point Baywalk, City of San Fernando, La Union.
As the 170th La Union Founding Anniversary 2020 celebration commences, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) opened the Agri-Tourism Village at the Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union on February 21, 2020.
Kaprobinsiaans and tourists joined the opening program which was led by Provincial Officials, PGLU Department and Unit Heads and employees.
"On our 170th foundation anniversary, we go back to our reason why we do the things that we do, and that is love. And so, as we celebrate on our triumphs and successes as a province, may we continue to spread love and compassion because it is only when we focus on love that our celebrations become more meaningful and memorable," says Gov. Francisco Emmanuel "Pacoy" R. Ortega III in his speech.
The 20 Mutia ti La Union Candidates also staged their talents where Cristine Jan Padua of Balaoan was adjudged as Second Runner-up and Jenny Butlig of Bacnotan as First Runner-up. The Best in Talent will be announced during the Mutia ti La Union 2020 Coronation Night on March 2, 2020 at Poro Point Baywalk, City of San Fernando, La Union.
The 20 Local Government Units decorated their own Agri-Tourism Booths showcasing the different products of the province in the Agri-Tourism Trade Fair which is open until March 2, 2020 from 5:30PM to 10PM. Food stalls are also open for the public.
Activities lined up for the anniversary are the First La Union Coalition of Civil Society Organizations Congress on February 22; La Union Vibrant Women, Inc. Ball on February 23; Employee's Night on February 24; Farmer's Fisherfolks and Cooperative's Night on February 25; Aldaw ti Arte ken Kultura February 26; Provincial Skills Competition on February 27; Inter-LGU Street Dancing Competition on February 28; Thanksgiving Concert on February 29; Tour of La Union, Aldaw ti Kaprobinsiaan, and Pammadayaw on March 1; and Flag Raising and Thanksgiving and Mutia ti La Union 2020 Coronation Night on March 2.
The PGLU reminds the public on safety and security of the event and offers free shuttling service for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and pregnant women visiting the village.
