Converging with the theme: โ€œKooPinas: Nagkakaisang Lakas para sa Makabuluhan at Sama-samang Pag-unlad!โ€, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAg) launched the Cooperative Month Celebration in La Union.

On October 3-4, 2022, the La Union Provincial Cooperative Month Celebration officially kicked-off through an Agribazaar showcasing local products of La Union Coop Members. Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member Cynthia Angelica M. Bacurnay, Chairperson of the SP Committee on Cooperatives and OIC-OPAg Ms. Agnes Grace A. Cargamento graced the opening of the bazaar.

This year, the OPAg has organized various activities focused on the celebration's theme which emphasizes the initiatives of cooperatives and livelihood in the entire province in order to strengthen and promote cooperative principles and values and encourage the cooperative movement among Kaprobinsiaan.

"For the Coop Month Celebration, the OPAg has organized month-long events and activities like free seminars, livelihood training and Search for Most Outstanding Cooperative, among others, to showcase the role and importance of every cooperative. This will be participated by various stakeholders within the province," Ms. Cargamento said.

The PGLU acknowledges the efforts and initiatives of the Cooperatives in the Province which contributed in the economic recovery of the province. Indeed, with the La Union Cooperatives' share in #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan, the realization of the province's vision to be the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025 is achievable.
