Rosario District Hospital (RDH) continues to stand by their tag line โService with a Heartโ through giving hope and better smile to 28 children with cleft lip and palate after undergoing free reconstructive surgery.
In partnership with the Philippine Band of Mercy (PBM), a non-government organization which provides free medical and surgical services to underprivileged children born with cleft lip and palate deformities, the free surgery was conducted on June 10-11, 2022 in RDH.
The screening of beneficiaries was held on June 7, 2022 wherein 28 children from La Union and nearby provinces of Ilocos Sur, Pangasinan, Abra and Nueva Ecija were lined up for operation.
RDH OIC-Chief of Hospital Dr. Michelle D. Arellano expressed her gratitude to PBM for they were chosen for the third time to host the said surgical mission. She likewise gave thanks to Dr. Gilbert Esquejo and Dr. Ernesto Casilang Jr. of PBM who conducted the surgeries together with RDH doctors and nurses.
"We are happy that Rosario District Hospital, along with our doctors and nurses who were part of the project, became instruments of this life changing event that brought joy to the children and to their families", she said.
This noble undertaking by RDH is indeed a successful one because of the help of their dedicated fellow employees and with the untiring support of the Provincial Government of La Union and the Local Government Unit of Rosario.
