Pursuing data driven planning of Programs, Projects and Activities, La Union tourism officers convened for the 2nd Quarter Tourism Performance Evaluation on July 14, 2022 at the Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.
The La Union Provincial Tourism Office (LUPTO) headed by Mr. Arthur S. Cortez, Jr. hosted the said meeting where the office cascaded the First Semester Tourism Performance of La Union which includes Tourist Arrival Data, 2021-2022 1st Semester Comparative Data Analysis, Tourism Enterprises Accreditation Status and Comprehensive Tourism Resources Database Update. These reports are necessary inputs in the updating of the Provincial Tourism Development Plan.
Furthermore, 3rd Quarter Tourism and Culture Priority Initiatives; La Union Wonders and Adventure, Visitor Experience Survey (LU WAVES) First Semester Result and Data Interpretation; Green Tourism Enterprises Program Guidelines and Criteria; among others were also discussed and presented during the meeting.
Another highlight of the assembly was the election of officers of the La Union Culture and Arts, and Tourism Officers Association (LUCATOA) for the term 2022 โ 2025. The newly-elected association officers were Mr. Daryl E. Dacumos (San Gabriel) as President; Mr. Tito U. Gorospe (Luna) as Vice President for 1st District; Ms. Sunshine M. Dela Cruz (Agoo) as Vice Pres for 2nd District; Ms. Irish Dominique D. Halabaso (San Fernando City) as Secretary; Ms. Sandra Divina C. De Vera (Aringay) as Treasurer; Ms. Mae Graciele C. Oblero (Balaoan) as Auditor; Ms. Cheresa T. Lamtocon (Bacnotan) as PRO for 1st District; and Ms. Yolanda S. Ofo-ob (Bagulin) as PRO for 2nd District.
Subsequently, LUCATOA has also reviewed and formally adopted the updated Constitution and Bylaws of the association. Further, a handful of amendments were approved to advance the organizationโs thrusts.
LUCATOA vowed for its continuous support to the advocacies of Governor Raphaelle Veronica โRafyโ Ortega-David inspired by her P.U.S.O. agenda to implement innovative and responsive tourism and cultural heritage initiatives that will cater all the five tourism circuits through the spirit of #LaUnionProbinsyanihan.
