Building stronger ties and strengthening citizens engagement with its accredited Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) led by Gov. Raphaelle Veronica โRafyโ Ortega-David, through the Office of the Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator (OPPDC), convened the La Union Coalition of Civil Society Organization (LUCCSO) to celebrate its 2nd Founding Anniversary during the LUCCSO Week on October 17-21, 2022.
The celebration aimed to gather all the accredited CSOs of the Province of La Union to enhance their capacity in planning, implementing and sustaining relevant and impactful projects that are aligned with the Provinceโs Vision. It further promotes values formation and active participation of CSO leaders in the effective and efficient implementation of the Provincial Transformative Governance Agenda and its Plans, Programs and Projects.
Gov. Rafy extended her warmest greetings to all the participants honoring their contributions, hard work and passion to help La Union realize its P.U.S.O. Agenda and vision to be the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025. In her speech, โWe congratulate you and at the same time, we set our expectations as you accept your responsibility to commit and ardently contribute to the progress of Civil Society Organizations here in La Union. You are huge parts of our P.U.S.O. Agenda, your initiatives elevate our people-centered governance and play a big role in attaining universal access to basic needs for a progressive economyโ. She added, โsa ngalan po ng PGLU at ating mga Kaprobinsiaan, maraming salamat po sa inyong serbisyo, makisama po tayo sa La Union PROBINSIYAnihan dahil magtutulungan po tayong mas mapagtibay pa ang ating mga CSOs para sa minamahal nating probinsiya.โ
Various activities were prepared for a week-long LUCCSO anniversary celebration which includes Election of the four remaining Board of Trustees; Launching of the PGLU Financial Assistance; Oath-taking Ceremony of the new LUCCSO Officers; Bloodletting Activity, โProject Dara: Dara ti Agtutubo Ranud nga Ayatโ; and Conduct of Capacity Development Program for the CSO representatives in the Local Health Board and Local School Board.
The PGLU continues to strengthen its partnership with the CSOs in pursuit of the #LaUnionProbinsyanihan empowering citizens to address their needs and deliver a more efficient public service. The Province of La Union is regarded as the most number of recognized CSOs in the Region with 165 accredited members.
