Empowering public information for informed citizenry and participative governance, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the Provincial Information Office spearheaded the re-organization of the Information Officers of La Union Guild participated in by Information Officers (IOs) and IO Designates of component local government units (LGUs) on August 26, 2022 at the Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.
Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David expressed her appreciation to the information officers and said, “Now more than ever, important talaga ang information sa atin. So, I hope makapag-align tayo para we can always give timely and relevant information provincewide, dito sa La Union, because Information is Power."
The meeting served as avenue to re-orient the IOs of the importance of their functions in building an informed citizenry. Further, the activity gave the IOs a chance to share their best practices and learn from others. All participants committed to be active members of the organization in order to facilitate fast and accurate information dissemination not only in their respective localities but across the province.
