The 20 component Local Government Units of La Union raced off during the ENVImazing Race organized by the Provincial Government - Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) conducted last June 24, 2022 at the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University โ€“ North La Union Campus (DMMMSU - NLUC).

The said race was conducted in view of the Philippine Environment Month Celebration which highlights this yearโ€™s theme โ€œAksyon Para sa Natatanging Mundoโ€ and #OnlyOneEarth Campaign. Moreso, it was designed to promote awareness on various environmental programs and initiatives of the province in view of the Provincial Government of La Unionโ€™s #KalikasanNaman campaign.

The ENVImazing Race was composed of five stations wherein participants were asked to accomplish various activities related to environmental protection and preservation.

The team from LGU-Sudipen composed of Joey Baguitan, Sommy G. Mendoza and Peter John B. Bangsoy bagged the first place. The 2nd place was won by LGU-San Juan with their representatives Riza Joy A. Abat, Gino Osvi P. Mabalot and Mr. Exekiel V. Lanuzo. Finishing in 3rd place were Steven Angelo, Lucky Sanculi and Rhesty Gurion from team City of San Fernando. Winners received cash prizes, Sulong Bayong bags and bamboo tumblers.

More than the fun and excitement of all the participants during the said race, the PGLU hopes that the activity resounds the call for action in the protection and preservation of the environment, especially in the province of La Union.
