To ensure that access for employment opportunities will reach the beneficiaries of the housing projects of the National Housing Authority (NHA) in Aringay, La Union, the Provincial Government of La Union through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) assisted in the conduct of Jobs Fair and Recruitment Drive initiated by NHA Region 1 and CAR together with the Municipal Government of Aringay on May 28, 2022 in San Benito Plains AFP/PNP Housing Project, Barangay, San Benito Norte, Aringay, La Union.
Five employers from La Union attended the jobs fair offering 150 local job vacancies to the 57 registered job applicants as they undergo onsite job interview. Job vacancies offered were Accounting Supervisor, Auditor, Treasury Coordinator, Office Clerk, Cashier, Sales Clerk, Merchandiser, Data Encoder, Driver, Cook and Kitchen Helper, Service Crew, Manager, Helper and Operation/Management Trainees. PESO-La Union will assist NHA Regional Office 1 and CAR to get the job-placement result from the participating employers.
Representative from the Provincial PESO, Mr. Rowell B. Timoteo, Labor and Employment Officer II, gave a brief orientation to the participants about the Jobs Fair Procedural Flow and promoted the usage of searching jobs online through the Finds Jobs La Union Employment Portal. Ms. Shara C. Estrada, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) La Union Provincial Office Representative, oriented the participants about the different programs and services of TESDA. Mr. Timoteo, also announced that there would be an upcoming Philippine Independence Day Job Fair spearheaded by the Department of Labor and Employment β La Union Field Office (DOLE-LUFO) on June 12, 2022 at CSI Mall, Barangay Biday, City of San Fernando, La Union.
Job Fairs are conducted to open up career opportunities for the unemployed, fresh graduates, skilled and unskilled workers vocational graduates, OFW Returnees and displaced skilled OFWs. The success of this activity was possible due to the collaboration, cooperation and support of NHA RO 1 and CAR, the Provincial Government of La Union and Municipal Government of Aringay thru their PESOs.
