The Office for Provincial Strategy spearheaded the Mini Boot Camp (MBC) 3 Governance Trailblazer Project Evaluation and Awarding to four out of five Governance Trailblazer teams on July 3, 2018 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.
The said event is a continuation of the previous MBC held on January 29-31, 2018. The teams consist of participants from the different Regional Line Agencies. As an application of the learnings from the MBC, the teams have identified and developed their Governance Trailblazer Projects which were presented to the panel of judges, Governor’s Consultants, Agnes Cargamento and Marilyn Castino, Provincial Administrator Staff Edna Raquedan and Pastor Brennus H. Paragas, Lorma Hospital Chaplain
The Governance Trailblazer Projects needed to be novel, innovative and with impactful ideas geared towards establishing La Union as the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon.
Projects presented by the different teams were “Bukirin, Pasyalan na rin” for Orange Team which is an adventure, trek and fam tour packages from the South Eastern Circuit; “Manong Drive V2.0” for the Blue K-9 which is a skills development and knowledge enhancement training program for tricycle drivers that aim to help augment the inadequacy of tourist guides; “Tourist Adventour” Map for Green Team which features the map of the city/municipality which shows the location and photos of agri-tourism sites and industries in the locality including tourism private establishments; and “Stone-Art Landmark” for Yellow Team which features stone arts as attraction in the circuit. The Projects aim that the products, activities and sites will be more known to the public, as it will help in achieving the goal of sustainable local economic growth for the benefit of the people of La Union.
After four months of implementation, the Province evaluated and assessed the four Governance Trailblazer Projects to recognize the outstanding performances of the teams who were able to realize their objective. The success of the trailblazer projects is envisioned to be early gains and quick wins of the strategy. The awarding of the said activity will be held on the first Monday Flag Raising Ceremony for the Month of August.
