THE ENTIRE PROVINCE OF LA UNION UNDER MGCQ UNTIL AUGUST 15, 2020

On July 30, 2020, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID) issued Resolution 60-A placing the Province of La Union under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) with strict local action. Pursuant to the issuance of the IATF-MEID and Provincial Executive Order No. 22 Series of 2020, the implementation of MGCQ in the Province will be extended until August 15, 2020. All executive orders, advisories, rules, and regulations issued during the implementation of MGCQ shall continue to be operative, subject to any succeeding issuances of the National and Local Governments.

Moreover, the implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in the City of San Fernando shall be lifted midnight of July 31, 2020, pursuant to RIATF-1 Resolution No. 24 and Provincial Executive Order No. 24 Series of 2020. Thus, the City of San Fernando transitions back to MGCQ effective August 1, 2020.

As of this writing, though we recorded a total of nine (9) recoveries yesterday, the Province still has 28 active cases. The Provincial Government is working together with its Component LGUs to ensure the strict enforcement of border checkpoints and the implementation of minimum health standards. Contact tracing, isolation, testing, and rehabilitation systems are also being strengthened.

Let us be reminded that the Province is still under community quarantine. Thus, we encourage every constituent of the Province to do their part and to cooperate with local authorities to contain the spread of the virus. At the end of the day, we will only emerge victorious if we unite our efforts and work as one.
