Student Career Guidance to Level up Employment

Public Employment Service Office - La Union Staff conducts career guidance to high school students in South Central Integrated School in City of San Fernando, Paringao National High School in Bauang, and Bungol National High School in Balaoan on October 8-10, 2019.

The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through its Public Employment Service Office (PESO) conducted a career symposium in three schools in La Union on October 8 – 11, 2019.

Said activity was part of the National Statistics Month Celebration in cooperation with Provincial Planning and Development Office. Activities were spearheaded by the Philippines Statistics Office - Region I (PSA – Region I).

A total of 432 students learned about PESO programs and services, labor market information, in - demand courses and skills to match jobs. Participating Schools were South Central Integrated School in City of San Fernando, Paringao National High School in Bauang, and Bungol National High School in Balaoan. PGLU PESO Staff Carlo P. Mondina and Karen Z. Tumbaga delivered the presentations.

This activity aimed to aid the students to plan their future career choices based on labor market needs and to enable them landing a job after graduation. Mr. Mondina also discussed the vision of Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III about his vision to make La Union as the Heart of Agri – Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.”
