RPMC-1 Lauds PGLU’s Balaoan District Hospital Isolation Facility as an Outstanding Project

The Regional Project Monitoring Committee 1 (RPMC-1) conducted a site visit to Balaoan District Hospital’s (BLDH) Isolation Facility on August 14, 2024, recognizing it as an outstanding project. Said visit is part of the RPMC’s 2024 Work Plan, focusing on field monitoring of projects that have demonstrated excellent physical and financial performance in previous years.

The said BLDH facility, originally designed for COVID-19 patients, will now cater to kaPROBINSYAnihan with infectious diseases. It aims to provide comfortable and accessible care, ensuring a quality experience for all patients.

Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David expressed her deep appreciation and pride for the recognition awarded to BLDH’s isolation facility, highlighting it as a testament to La Union's commitment to advancing healthcare infrastructure. She emphasized that the facility will significantly enhance the province’s capacity to respond to public health challenges by ensuring that residents, especially from the first district of La Union, shall receive the best possible care.

Key attendees included RPMC-1 Chairperson and National Economic and Development Authority Region 1 Director Stephanie F. Christiansen, along with members of their Monitoring and Evaluation Division; officers and staff of the Department of the Interior and Local Government Region 1, Department of Budget and Management Region 1, and Lupon ng mga Indibidwal na Nangangalaga sa Kalikasan La Union; and department heads and representatives from the Provincial Government of La Union’s (PGLU) Engineering and Planning Offices, as well as BLDH.

With the recognition of BLDH’s isolation facility, the PGLU hopes to set a benchmark for healthcare facilities across the province and inspire other local government units to prioritize and invest in accessible and high-quality healthcare services.
