PTO Kalinga Benchmarks PGLU’s Best Practices in Local Revenue Generation

With the objective to foster knowledge exchange and share best practices in Local Governance and transactions, the Treasury Office of the Province of Kalinga visited the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) for a benchmarking activity that took place on June 20, 2024.
The activity was spearheaded by the Provincial Treasurer’s Office (PTO) headed by Ms. Janet D. Molina, Provincial Treasurer and Engr. Robert L. Lelina, Acting Assistant Administrator, who also represented Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David.
The Kalinga delegates focused on understanding the successful initiatives of the PGLU, particularly in Sand and Gravel Tax Collection, Digitalization Program, and Information-Education-Communication Initiatives. By engaging with their counterparts in the PTO, the delegates aimed to gain practical insights into the strategies that have driven La Union's growth and development, intending to adopt these practices in their own province.
The benchmarking activity between the two provinces exemplifies the spirit of La Union PROBINSYAnihan and mutual learning. By leveraging each other's strengths and learning from shared experiences, La Union and Kalinga exemplify effective inter-provincial collaboration, aiming to enhance the quality of life for their provincemates and ensure sustainable development.
