PROVINCIAL YOUTH OFFICIALS HOLD MOCK SESSION

To give them an experience on how parliamentary procedures are practiced and as closing event of the celebration of the Linggo ng Kabataan 2018, the elected Provincial Youth Officials held a mock session on August 23, 2018 at the Speaker Pro Tempore Francisco I. Ortega Legislative Building and Session Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.
Members of the 21st Sangguniang Panlalawigan headed by Vice-Governor Aureo Augusto Q. Nisce, the SP employees and staff, and the SK Federation Presidents of the 20 LGUs headed by the Provincial SK Federation President and Ex-officio Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member, (SPM) Alyssa Kristine B. Sibuma served as their audience for the session.
The Youth Board Member from the Municipality of Balaoan, Efren S. Valdez presided over the mock session. Other present youth officials were Mark Douvee Calintang from Agoo; Trina Franzell G. Puapo from Rosario; Nikka Joy G. Abenoja of Naguilian; Jomar S. Lachica from Santo Tomas; Lilibeth Camacho from Aringay; Ronald G. Luyan from Santol; and Mark Justin Sobredo.
The elected Youth Governor, John Philip M. Oriel from the Municipality of Sudipen, was given time to deliver a speech. He said it is important, as elected youth officials, to always lead by example by being a great leader. “Challenges will strengthen and chisel us into even better officers, better leaders, and better people,” he said. He then thanked the Provincial Government of La Union headed by Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega and Vice-Gov. Aureo Augusto Q. Nisce as well as the Provincial SK Federation led by its president, SPM Sibuma for the opportunity given to them to experience being a legislator and to voice out their concerns and thoughts.
Included in the mock agenda were the letter of SPM Sibuma requesting for the mock session of the elected youth officials; Resolution of gratitude for the warm reception of the Municipality of Santol for hosting the culminating activity of the Linggo ng Kabataan 2018 held last August 12, 2018; and a review of the winners of the different activities held during the Linggo ng Kabataan 2018.
Prior to the mock session, the provincial youth officials, accompanied by SPM Sibuma, paid a courtesy visit to Gov. Pacoy.
