PROVINCIAL GENERAL SERVICES LEARNS FROM BEST PRACTICES OF BATAAN, PAMPANGA

Officer-In-Charge of the Provincial General Services Office (PGSO) Arvin C. Camacho gathers information on the Supply and Property Automated System of the PGSO Pampanga presented by its Officer-In-Charge, Mr. Francis Maslog during the Benchmarking Activity held on May 31, 2019 at the Provincial Government of Pampanga.
To strengthen and further improve its services, the Provincial General Services Office (PGSO) of the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) headed by its Officer-In-Charge and Assistant Provincial Administrator Arvin C. Camacho learned from the best practices of its counterpart in the Provinces of Bataan and Pampanga on May 31 to June 2, 2019.
In said benchmarking session, the department aimed to adopt and replicate the best practices of the Provinces of Bataan and Pampanga in terms of basic goods and services delivery and the implementation of the General Services Office Mandates based on R.A. 7160 or the Local Government Code of 1991.
The Province of Bataan was chosen by the team as it is the first province to enroll in the Performance Governance System (PGS) while the Province of Pampanga for its computerized system of supply management.
Aside from the benchmarking activity, a planning session ensued in order to review and evaluate individual performance to address the issues and challenges of the office. These individual performances will be translated into strategic contributions of each unit whereby aligning these strategies to attain the province’s vision to be the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025. Along the course of the program, the PGSO teamwork and camaraderie are expected to improve.
