PGLU welcomes new employees, enjoins them on Transformative Governance

The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) officially welcomed to the government service its new employees and appointees through a Job Orientation and Mass Oath-Taking Program on September 18-19, 2018 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol Building, City of San Fernando, La Union.
Led by the Human Resource Management Unit (HRMU), the activity aimed to equip the new personnel with the practical knowledge they would need as they become instruments in the attainment of the vision of the province to become the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.
Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III administered the oath of over 100 newly-hired and newly-promoted employees. He underscored the value of integrity and commitment in government service, and enjoined the employees to be active agents in the transformative governance which the PGLU has embarked on.
The employees were also oriented on various policies and procedures observed in the PGLU, with topics such as Organization Structure; Recruitment, Selection, and Placement Procedure; ISO Procedures; Employee Welfare and Benefits; Learning and Development; Performance Management; Rewards and Recognition; Resignation and Retirement; Civil Service Laws and Office Policies; the province’s Agri-Tourism Vision Roadmap; the Anti-Red Tape Act; Gender Sensitivity; Grievance Machinery; and the RA 6713.
The employees also learned on their government benefits such as those from Home Development Mutual Fund and the Government Service Insurance System. Special topics on Mental Health and Environmental Awareness were also discussed.
