A cultural and heritage landmark will soon rise in the heart of the provincial capital, as the Provincial Government of La Union through the La Union Provincial Tourism Office (LUPTO) - Culture and Arts Section unveiled the perspective plan of MUSEO TI LA UNION: Center for the Arts, Culture and Heritage on November 4, 2021 in front of Senator Alejo R. Mabanag Building, City of San Fernando, La Union.

On behalf of Gov. Francisco Emmanuel β€œPacoy” R. Ortega III, the event was graced by Vice Gov. Mario Eduardo C. Ortega together with Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Members Hon. Nancy Corazon M. Bacurnay as Committee Chairperson for Education and Culture, Hon. Geraldine R. Ortega, Hon. Christian I. Rivera, Hon. Gary N. Pinzon, Hon. Alyssa Kristine B. Sibuma, Hon. Gerard G. Ostrea, Hon. Maria Rosario Eufrosina β€œChary” P. Nisce, Hon. Jennifer Mosuela-Fernandez, and Hon. Jonathan Justo A. Orros.

β€œThe Museo” that will be housed in the building’s second floor shall feature collections, artifacts, sculptures, objects, historical information and art pieces relevant to the history and heritage of La Union. An art gallery will also be developed that will soon host exhibitions and art productions by local and national artists.

The Takder Phase (Phase 1) construction is scheduled to start towards the end of 2021 and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2022.
