The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) has substantially contributed to strengthening public order, security, and safety of its constituents by establishing the La Union Peace, Order, and Public Safety System (LUPOPPS) in the entire province.

Through the initiative of the Office of the Governor – Information and Communications Technology Unit (OPG-ICTU) and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO); and in partnership with the PC Craft Computer Technologies, Inc. (PCCraft), the LUPOPPS was introduced with an orientation and overview last July 19, 2023, attended by 20 participants coming from the Northern Circuit including LGU Balaoan, Bangar, Luna, and Sudipen; and Balaoan District Hospitals (BalDH) at the 3rd Floor, LUPOS Bldg., Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union.

The said project aims to build a provincial-wide Peace and Order and Public Safety-Emergency Operations Center (POPS-EOC), which will act as a focal point for emergency response and monitor the peace, order, and public safety of all integral locations and popular tourist destinations in the province.

During the orientation, a brief background of the system was discussed by Mr. Freshnedie Cellona of the PCCraft, while the system’s features including the handling of CCTV monitoring, private branch exchange (PBX) Communication System, and Public Address System (Paging System) was discussed by a representative from Dahua Technology. Hands-on activity was also done to familiarize themselves with monitoring and navigating the said system.

While still under progress on the other circuit, the establishment of LU-POPPS is completely operational within the Northern Circuit.

The Provincial Government, along with its component LGUs, remains committed to the call of #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan in strengthening the peace and order and public safety of its kaprobinsiaan.
