PGLU Reorients Employees on Gov Procurement Processes

To continually enhance the capabilities of the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) employees, the Office of the Provincial Governor conducted the Reorientation on Procurement Processes and the Updated Implementing Rules and Regulations of the Republic Act 9184 or the Government Procurement Reform Act on September 10-11, 2024 at the Speaker Pro Tempore Francisco I. Ortega Convention Center (La Union Convention Center), City of San Fernando, La Union.
The participants were from 31 different offices of the Provincial Capitol. They engaged in an interactive discussion regarding various topics such as the preparation of the Project Procurement Management Plan, Linkaging of the Budget and Procurement, and the salient features of Procurement Planning. It emphasizes the principle that government procurements, which use public funds, only consider those crucial for the efficient discharge of government functions. This implies that the PGLU’s mandate is to provide the current and prevailing needs of every KaPROBINSYAnihan, free from any unnecessary expenditures.
The said training ensures that the skills and knowledge of the focal employees remain within the standards needed for the observance of just and systematic government procurement processes. In accordance with Gov. Raphael Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David’s PUSO Agenda, the PGLU commits to continuously capacitating its employees to properly fulfill its duty to the people of La Union.
