PGLU Relaunches “LUV ni Gov” Radio Program

As part of the Library and Information Services (LIS) Month, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the Media and Public Information Unit (MPIU) relaunched the Baro a Timek iti Kapitolio Radio Program (BTK-R) on November 17, 2018 with its first season dubbed as “LUV ni Gov” (La Union Vision ni Gov).
The first relaunching episode of the radio program was aired in Bombo Radyo simultaneous with a Live video in the Official Facebook Page of the Provincial Government of La Union.
In the first episode, Gov. Francisco Emmanuel "Pacoy" R. Ortega III together with Provincial Tourism Officer Mr. Adamor L. Dagang, discussed the vision of the province to position La Union as the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025. They also talked about how the PGLU facilitates information dissemination in the province.
“Information is power…if we have information and we understand information, we can apply it through wisdom,” said Gov. Pacoy highlighting that the BTK-R is a great avenue to disseminate the vision, projects, programs and activities of the PGLU. “Maragsakanak ta daytoy program is aligned to what we want, and that is ‘love’ because everybody can relate to love,” added Gov. Pacoy.
Also discussed in the BTK-R are other means of information dissemination in the province which include the Baro a Timek iti Kapitolio Newspaper used to publish its projects, programs and activities; the Provincial Library which contains both print and electronic references; and the official website www.launion.gov.ph and Facebook Page which are also utilized to inform the public.
The LIS Month was made possible through Presidential Proclamation 837 in 1991 and is celebrated in recognition of the need to focus on public awareness on the various services rendered by information service centers.
