PGLU Recognizes 10 Outstanding Police Officers; Forms Part of La Union PROBINSYAnihan

The Provincial Government of La Union honored the Ten Outstanding Police Officers of La Union (TOPLU) of the Year 2023 of the Province of La Union during the awarding ceremony on October 11, 2023 at the Agora Event Center, Thunderbird Resorts, Poro Point, City of San Fernando, La Union.
The 2023 TOPLU are PCPT Juan D. Casem for the Investigative Category; PSSg Gemma B. Cayabyab for the Police Community Relations Category; PCPT Oscar G. Pascual Jr. for the Intelligence Sector; PCPT Jonathan T. Mendoza for the Special Operations Category; PCPT Sterwin S. Ong, for the Criminalistic Category; PCpl Jocel C. Rimando for the Traffic Management Category; PCpl Edgardo A. Llena for the Human Resource Management Category; Pat Gellie A. Cudiamat for the Anti-Narcotics Category; Pat Honeylynn B. Dela Cruz for the Health Service Category; and PLTCOL Angelo J. Camuyot for the Administrative Management Category.
The said award, which was established through Provincial Ordinance No. 025-2012 and was amended under Provincial Ordinance No. 119-2017, honors police officers who have shown excellent accomplishments in the different fields of police work. It was also designed to serve as motivation for the police officers to keep their standards high especially in terms of integrity and honesty in the workplace reflecting their contributions in #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan.
This year's award was approved and confirmed through Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution No. 1489-2023 authored by Hon. Gerard G. Ostrea, Chairperson of the SP Committee on Peace and Order and Public Safety. This is also the second awarding ceremony after two years since the search was halted in 2020 and 2021 due to the CoViD-19 pandemic.
Each awardee was given a Plaque of Recognition and a Cash Gift of Php 10,000.
Gov. Raphaelle Veronica "Rafy" Ortega-David extended her warmest gratitude to the PNP for their relentless effort in going above and beyond the call of duty to serve and protect the people in La Union. She also emphasized in her speech the collaboration of the police force and the government in maintaining the peace, order, and security of La Union.
"I extend my wholehearted gratitude and my snappiest salute to the whole PNP for your relentless effort and going above and beyond the call of duty to serve and protect our kaprobinsiaan. We look forward to making more fruitful collaborations with you, as we continuously position La Union to be progressive, peaceful and to be the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025," says Gov. Rafy.
As La Union strives to embody the spirit of La Union PROBINSYANIHAN, it also hopes that the TOPLU is not only a celebration for the awardees but also for the whole police force that performs their sworn duty through gaining the people’s trust and confidence in them.
