PGLU Receives Commendation for Impressive Fiscal Performance

The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) has received high praise for its exceptional fiscal performance and commitment to public service as evident in the recent Local Treasury and Assessment Operations Evaluation (LTAOE) conducted by the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) Region I.

On August 17, 2023, BLGF I conducted LTAOE to the Offices of Provincial Treasurer and Provincial Assessor. The evaluation aimed to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of the Local Government Unit in handling their financial and assessment operations and identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.

During the evaluation, the BGLF was impressed by the PGLU's outstanding performance. The PGLU achieved an exceptionally high socio-economic expenditure rate at 81%, far exceeding the BLGF's standard benchmark of 53%. This accomplishment demonstrates the commitment of PGLU to the welfare and development of kaprobinsiaan.

Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David expressed her gratitude for the recognition and commended the BLGF I for their commitment to improving local government operations. She emphasized that the recommendations provided by the BLGF should be seen as opportunities for growth and development rather than discouragement. She viewed them as a challenge for PGLU to further elevate the quality of services provided to the Kaprobinsiaan reinforcing #LaUnionPROBINSYANihan for the betterment of the province.

The commendation from BLGF Region I serves as a testament to PGLU's dedication to responsible financial management and its unwavering commitment to socio-economic development.
