PGLU Provides Technical Assistance in the AIP Formulation for Balaoan and Sudipen LGUs

To strengthen local governance and promote effective planning and development, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) has been providing crucial technical assistance to its component Local Government Units (LGUs). The recent focus has been on aiding the municipalities of Balaoan and Sudipen in the formulation of their Annual Investment Programs (AIP).
Led by the Office of the Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator (OPPDC), an Orientation on the Formulation of the AIP was conducted in both Balaoan and Sudipen. The sessions were aimed at guiding the LGUs in identifying their priority programs, projects, and activities in alignment with their respective visions, goals, and objectives.
For Balaoan, the AIP orientation took place at the Balaoan Conference Hall on June 20, 2023. Mayor Aleli U. Concepcion delivered a warm welcome address, stressing the significance of the orientation in helping the LGU-Balaoan offices fulfill their roles and contributions in the AIP formulation process. Together with Mayor Concepcion in the said orientation were her respective Department Heads from various sectors, including planning, finance, social welfare, health, engineering, and more.
Similarly, Sudipen benefited from the AIP orientation, held at the Alexander Buquing Hall Municipal Annex Building on June 29, 2023. Mayor Wendy Joy D. Buquing expressed heartfelt gratitude to the PGLU and OPPDC for extending technical assistance, essential for the successful formulation of their AIP. Vice-Mayor Melvin G. Macusi and Department Heads from different areas were also present during the event.
The AIP formulation process is a critical aspect of local governance, as it ensures that resources are allocated efficiently to address the most pressing needs of the communities. By working closely with the component LGUs, the PGLU continues to foster #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan - a collaborative effort to build a resilient and progressive province.
During the orientation, the participants were familiarized with various indicators and methodologies used to optimize the AIP form. This will aid the LGUs in enhancing their planning processes, from preparation to the effective implementation and monitoring of their programs, projects, and activities.
The technical assistance provided by the PGLU is seen as a valuable resource for the LGUs in Balaoan and Sudipen, enabling them to make informed decisions and prioritize initiatives that will have a positive and lasting impact on their constituents' lives.
As the PGLU strengthens its partnership with the component LGUs through knowledge-sharing and capacity-building initiatives, the province of La Union moves forward with renewed determination, working hand in hand with its municipalities to build a prosperous and sustainable future for all.
