Representatives from the Institute for Solidarity in Asia (ISA) conduct site visitation at selected areas in La Union namely: San Pablo Multipurpose Cooperative in Balaoan; San Juan Surfing Area and Lomboy Farms in Bauang on September 5, 2019 to assess the awareness as well as the impact of the Province’s Agri-Tourism Strategy to its stakeholders.

The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) successfully passed the Pre-Audit Assessment or the LGU Audit Readiness Assessment (LARA) conducted by Institute for Solidarity in Asia (ISA) on September 3-5, 2019.

The three-day Pre-Audit Assessment comprised of an online self-assessment survey answered by employees of all PGLU offices; a spot audit which checks the progress of the offices with regard to their strategic commitments; and documents review to validate the maturity of governance elements and gauge the performance of PGLU in specific areas.

ISA also conducted focus group discussions and interviews involving the PGLU staff, Office for Provincial Strategy (OPS), Multi-Sectoral Governance Council, Performance Governance System (PGS) Core Team members, and other PGS players to assess the organization as seeks to institutionalize the PGS.

Using the metrics set by the ISA, the province received a 96% rating that translates to an excellent performance. Some of the strong points that were identified during the exit meeting were the deep understanding and appreciation of the offices’ strategic contributions as well as the presence of breakthrough results at the enterprise level.

After successfully passing the LARA, PGLU has its eyes set in preparing for the third party audit on September 23 -27 this year.
