PGLU ORIENTS EMPLOYERS ON FIND JOBS LA UNION EMPLOYMENT PORTAL

The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), through the partnership of the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and the Information and Communications Technology Unit (ICTU) facilitated an online orientation to employers on how the Find Jobs La Union Portal works on September 20, 2021 through video conference.

PESO-La Union invited ICTU Chief Gerry Binas-o together with Information Systems Analyst I Terosha J. Ballesteros of ICTU, as resource speakers to discuss the registration process, the requirements of gaining an access account and the functionality of posting job vacancies by the registered employers in the Find Jobs La Union Employment System.

Provincial PESO Manager Charito C. Dator encourages all the present employers to use the system and post their job vacancies regularly to assist the jobseekers in La Union who were greatly affected by the CoViD-19 pandemic. The online orientation was attended by 25 representatives of employers from the Province of La Union and neighboring provinces.

To ensure the legitimacy of the companies registering in the portal, PESO-La Union required them to accomplish an establishment registration form and submit it to PESO for validation and in compliance to labor laws. As of September 20, 2021, Find Jobs La Union registered 71 employers and 975 jobseekers with 5,825 job vacancies posted in the system. Find Jobs La Union was launched on June 23, 2021.

The PGLU continues to improve better provision of employment programs through the use of online platforms for all kaprobinsiaan.
