In its continuous effort to improve ease of transaction and to adopt to the new normal protocols, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) headed by Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III through the Provincial Treasurer’s Office launched a digital tax payment system in the province.

The new system allows taxpayers to pay their taxes and other fees due to the province online using the Link.BizPortal found at the official site of the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP). An orientation and walkthrough of the new system was conducted by representatives of LBP attended by staff from different offices of PGLU through a virtual meeting on April 26, 2021.

The PGLU is working with the LBP to ease local payments through the electronic system with the following gateway options: Landbank ATM and Debit Accounts, Participating Bancnet Member Banks, Cash Payment via Partner Collection Outlets and Philippine Clearing House Corporation (PCHC) paygate for Union Bank, RCBC and Robinsons Bank Accounts. The initiative forms part of a broader government digitalization project.

The new electronic payment will help improve the efficiency in the collection of tax and make paying bills more convenient for taxpayers.
