PGLU Launches E-Book for ALL in Provincial Library; Conducts Orientation Program for Students, La Union Librarians

As Governor Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David and the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) continues to provide the basic needs of KaPROBINSYAnihan, the Provincial Information Office – Library and Archiving Unit launched the addition of E-Books in the La Union Provincial Library Online Public Access Catalog on April 30, 2024, at the La Union Provincial Library.
The program was attended by Librarians from different municipalities of La Union and chosen students from La Union National High School Senior High School students headed by Ms. Mary Grace B. Soriano. The PGLU aims to give KaPROBINSYAnihan better and easier access to information resources that they need for their research and personal use.
On behalf of the Provincial Information Officer Mr. Rowan Joshua E. Dimaculangan, Administrative Support Services Unit head Darbie Ann R. Fernandez welcomed the participants and speaker. “This is another breakthrough initiative of the PGLU, especially PIO. Magiging malaking tulong [ito] sa ating mga estudyante dahil mas magiging accessible ang mga information na kakailanganin nila at mase-secure po natin na ang mga pinanggagalingan ng mga information ay verified,” she said.
Senior Manager for Training and Quality Assurance, F&J De Jesus, Inc. Mr. Mark Francis L. Tanghal conducted the orientation proper for the E-Book launching. His presentation included the importance of the usage of E-Books. He also showed a demonstration and introduction video of the E-Library, which will be used to access the E-Books. Mr. Tanghal also presented the different features of the site and books, which include E-Lectures, Videos, Mind Maps, Quiz, and Activities that can be explored by the users.
With the modernization happening in the community, the PGLU will continue to keep with these developments to be able to give KaPROBINSYAnihan a quality and good service aligned with the call for La Union PROBINSYAnihan.
