The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the Provincial Government - Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) inaugurated LGU-Sto. Tomas Sanitary Landfill Facility Facility located at Brgy. Namonitan, Sto. Tomas, La Union on June 25, 2021.
Gov. Pacoy emphasizes the landfill as a symbol of our desire to participate actively in all efforts and activities to benefit our own home. He also recognized the role of each individual who contributed to the success of the inauguration. βMay this project be a testament of our commitment to work more actively together and to protect our environment from further abuse and destruction passionately,β Gov. Pacoy said. Gov. Pacoy highlights that we are a part of nature, and we are not apart from it.
On behalf of Governor Francisco Emmanuel βPacoyβ R. Ortega III, EnP. Annalyn Rosario-Valdez, Supervising Environmental Management Specialist of the Provincial Government - Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO), delivers his message during the inauguration.
The blessing and inauguration of the sanitary landfill facility were led by Mayor Severino C. Carbonell, Vice Mayor Winnie N. Doctolero, and all of the department heads and Sangguniang Bayan members. Provincial Engineer Ressie A. Estrella also attended the inauguration activity.
The sanitary landfill facility of LGU-Sto. Tomas has a total area of 2.8 hectares, equipped with garbage trucks and heavy equipment needed for the proper operational management of the facility.
As PGLU continues to strengthen its #KalikasanNaman campaign, let us also work together as one to protect our natural environment; For the beauty of our dear Province lies in our hands; letβs work and stand together for a Province worth living in.
