PGLU Inoculates 90 LUPJ PDLs

A total of 90 Persons Deprived with Liberty from the La Union Provincial Jail (LUPJ) were successfully vaccinated with their first dose of Sinovac Vaccine against the CoViD-19 virus on September 8, 2021.
Upon screening of the Provincial Health Office (PHO), only one PDL was deferred from the list due to current medication.
In a meeting with detention cell mayors on September 7, 2021, Provincial Warden Rimas G. Calixto briefly explained the importance of being inoculated against CoViD-19 for everyone’s safety. He emphasized that the LUPJ being a closed setting, vaccination is one of the key elements to prevent CoViD-19 . He also stressed that PDL also has inherent dignity and rights thus the need to be given due care and consideration.
