A Season of Love and Commitment: PGLU Honors Employees in February’s First Monday Flag Ceremony

The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), headed by Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David, welcomed the month of February by realigning goals and recognizing the employees’ hard work during the first Monday flag-raising ceremony on February 3, 2025.
“It is time for us to refocus on our immediate priorities…proceed with the execution of our different programs, projects, and activities that will benefit our KaPROBINSYAnihan,” Gov. Rafy said as she reiterated the importance of the PGLU employees’ commitment in providing the needs of the different sectors in the province. She also gave the reminder of the powerful impact of being kind to one another in the delivery of service.
Reflecting this dedication, 44 employees pledged their unwavering commitment as public servants across various PGLU offices including the Local Economic Enterprise and Investment Promotion Office Department Head Angela Grace C. Peralta; Office of the Provincial Agriculturist Department Head Sharon A. Viloria; Provincial Budget Office Assistant Department Head Genelen B. Nisperos; and Office of the Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator (OPPDC) Assistant Department Head Atty. Ruby Jean N. Balanon.
Other newly appointed employees were from the Provincial Legal Office, Office of the Governor (OPG), Office of the Provincial Administrator, La Union Provincial Tourism Office, Provincial Information Office, Provincial Treasurer’s Office, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Provincial Engineering Office (PEO), Provincial Health Office (PHO), Bacnotan District Hospital, Balaoan District Hospital, Naguilian District Hospital, Caba District Hospital, Office of the Provincial Veterinarian, Office of the Provincial Assessor, and OPPDC.
Further, eight service awards were conferred to retiring employees to show the PGLU’s appreciation for their contributions. They were Reynaldo B. Lirazan of the OPG with 17 years of service; Dr. Fabian M. Uson of Rosario District Hospital with 12 years of service; PHO’s Virginia F. Cañero, with 33 years of service, and Laquita H. Rilloraza, with 32 years of service; Rodel G. Rillera, Marylin G. Viloria, and Gerardo V. Viloria Jr. of the PEO celebrating 10, 35, and 34 years of service, respectively; and Teodora Vivian D. Rimando of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Office who served for 38 years. Their perseverance in performing their duties and serving the people of La Union warrants due recognition.
Gov. Rafy expressed her gratitude and admiration for the collective efforts of the employees, emphasizing that every role contributes to the province’s continued progress. “Together, we move forward for a La Union that the people truly deserve,” she said, underscoring the province’s vision of transformative leadership toward improving the lives of every KaPROBINSYAnihan.
