The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) successfully conducted the first of two 2024 Multi-Sectoral Governance Council (MSGC) Coaching and Mentoring Sessions at the La Union Peace, Order, and Safety - Emergency Operations Center (LUPOS-EOC), Barangay Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union. This event highlighted the province's unwavering commitment to elevating governance and operational standards across all PGLU departments and offices.
Led by 11 esteemed members of the MSGC, the session provided strategic coaching tailored to align departmental objectives with La Union's overarching goal of becoming the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025. Sessions focused on critical areas including financial stability, economic dynamism, resilient communities, and organizational governance, aiming to raise standards and foster robust multi-stakeholder collaboration.
Rev. Brennus Paragas, Chairman of the Multi-Sectoral Governance Council, opened the session and underscored their full support for the province's strategic initiatives. He highlighted the council's active participation and engagement in driving these initiatives forward, reinforcing the importance of synergy between the MSGC and PGLU departments.
"We deeply appreciate the invaluable guidance provided by the MSGC," noted Engr. Robert Lelina, PGLU’s Assistant Provincial Administrator. "Their expertise and recommendations will undoubtedly bolster our efforts to deliver exemplary service to our KaPROBINSYAnihan."
As La Union progresses through the 2024 coaching and mentoring sessions, stakeholders anticipate further strides in operational excellence and community impact across the province. This comprehensive approach underscores La Union's proactive stance in elevating governance standards and enhancing public service delivery.
"Instituting the MSGC coaching and mentoring sessions marks a pivotal step towards harmonizing our departmental goals with La Union's strategic initiatives," emphasized EnP. Michaela Louise T. Delfinado, Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator. "This initiative embodies our collective pursuit of innovation and efficiency in public service."
A second mentoring session is scheduled on October 10, 2024. These sessions are designed not only to monitor progress towards established Wildly Important Goals (WIGs) but also to provide actionable insights for sustained improvement and strengthen partnerships with industry experts from the private sector. The comprehensive coaching covered diverse areas of governance, fostering a holistic approach to achieving La Union's strategic vision.
