PGLU Extends Additional Help to Victims of Taal Volcano Eruption

La Union Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Aureliano Rulloda III leads the turning over of the Php300,000.00 cash aid and 1,000 abel blankets of the Provincial Government of La Union to Batangas Gov. Hermilando Ingco Mandanas for the victims of the Taal Volcano Eruption in the Province of Batangas on January 30, 2020.
The 22nd Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of La Union approved the request of the Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III granting an emergency purchase of 1,000 pieces of abel blankets to be donated to the victims of the Taal Volcano eruption in the Province of Batangas during their session on January 21, 2020.
It can be recalled that the Provincial Government of La Union has extended Php300,00.00 as relief aid to displaced residents of Batangas province due to the Taal Volcano eruption through SP Resolution No. 071-2020.
Board Member Jennifer Mosuela, the author of the resolution, said that the eruption of the Taal Volcano caused severe and massive damages on agriculture, infrastructure, livestock and livelihood including loss of lives of the people of the province. She added that the purchase of said relief assistance will surely provide support to areas, communities and families affected by the eruption.
In an interview, Gov. Pacoy encouraged all the people of La Union to keep on praying for the safety of the people of Batangas that they may be protected from the scourge of the eruption.
