PGLU Employees Renew Vow to Public Service

UPHOLDING, DEFENDING THE CONSTITUTION. Gov. Pacoy leads the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) employees in their Renewal of Oath of Office during the First Monday Flag Raising Ceremony on September 3, 2018 at the Provincial Capitol Grounds, City of San Fernando, La Union. The renewal of oath is a sign of commitment of PGLU employees to uphold and defend the constitution in celebration of the Philippine Civil Service Month.
The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) employees, led by Gov. Francisco Emmanuel "Pacoy" R. Ortega III, renewed their Oath of Office in celebration of the Philippine Civil Service Month during the First Monday Flag Raising Ceremony on September 3, 2018 at the Provincial Capitol Grounds, City of San Fernando, La Union.
In his speech, Gov. Pacoy emphasized the importance of the observance of the Civil Service Month saying, “…our chosen career and vocation, in fact, everything we do in public sector is covered by the Civil Service, a fundamental provision in our constitution.” According to him, the renewal of oath is a sign of commitment of the PGLU employees to uphold and defend the constitution. The governor also encouraged the employees to become walking and talking models of the “La Union” that PGLU envisions.
Gov. Pacoy also mentioned the other events and celebrations for the month of September which are Clean up Month, National Tuberculosis Month, National Crime Prevention Week, Linggo ng Kasuotang Pilipino, National Tourism Week, National History Week, Philippine Councilors League Week, and National Family Day.
PGLU retirees were also recognized during the program. They were Medical Officer III Edwin Laureta of Rosario District Hospital who rendered 30 years in public service; Administrative Assistant II Tessie Gengania of Human Resource Management Unit, 30 years in public service; Laboratory Technician II Florencia Munar of Provincial Engineering Office, 39 years in public service; and Population Program Worker II Sonia Caldito of Provincial Population Office, 41 years in public service.
