PGLU Elevates Digital Governance with Employee Training Initiatives

Strengthening digital governance, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), through the Office of the Provincial Administrator – Human Resource Management Unit, and the Office of the Provincial Governor – Information and Communications Technology Unit and in partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology – Regional Office 1 upskilled a total of 173 employees through the conduct of the Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) Training and Computer Skills Training on Microsoft Excel on September 21 and 28, 2023, respectively, via Video Conferencing.
PNPKI is a set of procedures, tools, and regulations that enables users to encrypt and sign data, allowing risks to be effectively controlled and enabling the execution of electronic transactions across public, insecure networks like the Internet. 82 PGLU employees attended the orientation, where they learned about the PNPKI and its components as well as its benefits and legal foundation.
On the other hand, 91 PGLU employees attended the Computer Skills Training on Microsoft Excel where they were taught on how to utilize the said application and its various basic and advanced functions.
Both activities were held in line with the PGLU's Learning and Development Program and in participation in the celebration of the 123rd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary.
The PGLU will continue to advance creative Information and Communications Technology solutions that will improve the lives of kaprobinsiaan in order to sustain the #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan spirit in the face of the quickly developing technologies.
