CocoLife HealthCare in partnership with Baron Group Insurance Agency presented their proposed Comprehensive HealthCare Program to Provincial Government of La Union Cooperative member-employees at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol Building, City of San Fernando, La Union on June 13, 2019.

With the aim to improve health status of Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) employees, representatives from CocoLife Healthcare presented their proposed Comprehensive HealthCare Program to PGLU cooperative members at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol Building, City of San Fernando, La Union on June 13, 2019.

A total of 105 employees attended the presentation offering a program that requires a fixed premium (per enrollee) for a corresponding set of benefits. The program covers benefits such as In-Patient Care; Out-Patient Care; Emergency Services; Preventive Care; Life Insurance; Annual Physical Exam; and Dental Care.

Account Executive for Cocolife Healthcare Cherry Mondejar said that the insurance company will tailor-fit the program to the number of enrollees, thus, the benefits, as well as the premium, would also change accordingly. As per discussion, the benefits are treated individually for each medical condition and will not overlap with one another. However, once the maximum benefit limit is reached, the company will no longer shoulder the payment. A separate maximum benefit limit is given to enrollees who would avail of the services under different medical conditions. The health program covers a vast number of clinical situations.

Attendees were quick to point out their queries with regard to what extent will the plan cover them in instances where the enrollee is forced to opt for room service above what they could normally afford to pay. Ms. Mondejar explained that in emergency cases, the enrollee could choose between downgrading or upgrading their room to avoid additional charges or to transfer to other accredited hospitals where the room is available. CocoLife would reimburse an equivalent of one day when it's deemed that either of the above solutions isn't possible. The membership is also non-transferable.
