In line with the celebration of the 121st Philippine Service Commission Anniversary, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) conducted the #BidaKawani: Stronger Ties with Government Employees on September 21, 2021 via Zoom Conference.

A total of 300 participants from Regional and Provincial Line Agencies in the Province registered for the event. The program is aimed at strengthening solidarity among government organizations in La Union through connecting, commending and celebrating our very own public servants who continue to carry out their mission to bring positive impact on the lives of every Kaprobinsiaan.

Governor Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III recognized the unwavering dedication of all #BidaKawani who goes above and beyond their call of duty to serve the people in the midst of the pandemic. He stated, “All these require grit and hard work and we may sometimes feel that we are pushed to our limits, but let us not forget that we can always take a pause to reignite our passion and remain anchored to our purpose.”

During the program, government employees were able to take a break from their usual work routine through creating meaningful bonds, acknowledging their strengths and celebrating their wins with fellow public servants. The participants engaged in various engaging activities and took part in identifying current issues, proposing solutions and sharing existing programs of their agencies to address the identified challenges in their respective fields.

The participants expressed their gratitude for the said event. Ms. Joyce M. Delos Santos of DILG Regional Office 1 shared, “Nakakatuwa pong isipin na possible po pala ang zoom event with the sole purpose to uplift ang spirit ng bawat isa, at mag-enjoy at relax. Ang commitment ko as a public servant is to strive to make myself better and to put my heart in everything that I do.”

“I am very happy to have attended this event because we were able to have a break and have fun. It is also a great venue to share inputs on our concerns and existing programs to address these. Our office will continue to give full support to PGLU because the Provincial Government has also been very supportive to us.”, shared Ms. Mary Ann Escoto of DENR Regional Office 1.

Indeed, as the Provincial Government, we are not just persistent in advocating for transformative governance, but also acknowledge that meaningful rest and intentional self-care are necessary to become stronger people for a #StrongerLaUnion.
