The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) headed by Governor Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. The Workshop on Big Book Making was done in preparation for the start of day care service for SY 2018-2019.

Big Books are story books with enlarged texts that offer teachers the opportunities to help children develop concepts about prints and the reading process using indigenous materials available in their community. It helps children to focus on listening, speaking the mother-tongue and imagine ideas that are presented in print.

The two-day workshop was actively participated in by 50 Child Development Workers who in-turn will re-echo the workshop to their colleagues in their respective municipalities.

The output of the workshop was presented to the group for critiquing and editing and will be kept at the PGLU Child Development Center for ready reference and possible reproduction.
