PGLU, Agencies meet for Evacuation Management of Fire-affected families

In the continuous provision of assistance of the Provincial Government of La Union to the affected families of the recent fire incident in Barangay III, City of San Fernando, La Union, nine families who still do not have a home were assisted to their new temporary abode in Ilocanos Elementary School today, January 24, 2022.
Relative to this, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) called a meeting with different concerned agencies in relation to the assistance to be given to the said families. Presided by Assistant PDRRMO Alvin Cruz, the meeting was attended by representatives from the Department of Education, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Office of the Civil Defense, and Barangay III and Ilocanos Norte Councils.
The meeting aims to provide a more specific and concrete management plan on the evacuation and assistance for the affected families. The City Government of San Fernando will now take over the camp management with the ready augmentation from the PGLU and the Regional Line Agencies.
