PG-ENRO Conducts Quarry Checkpoint at Night time

For stricter implementation of anti-illegal quarrying activity in La Union, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) conducted a spot quarry checkpoint at the exit and entry points of La Union at night time to catch violators who take advantage of the night.
The team, composed of PG-ENRO quarry monitoring team and municipal police officers, established a night checkpoint at Bacnotan, La Union on September 9, 2021 and at Pugo, La Union on September 22, 2021.
Violations on Provincial Ordinance No. 274-2021 or the Regulation on the Extraction, Disposition, Utilization, and Processing of Quarry and other Mineral Resources Ordinance of 2020 such as no cover, misdeclaration, and no delivery receipts presented at the checkpoint were some of the violations noted and apprehended. Provincial Ordinance Violation Receipts were issued to a total of four violators/haulers.
