PDRRMO on Red Alert for 2024 Semana Santa, Summer Vacation; Locals, Tourists Advised to Prioritize Safety

With the heightened activities this Semana Santa and Summer Vacation (SumVac), the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) operates on Red Alert status to ensure emergency preparedness and efficient handling of pilgrims and travelers, aligning with the intensified call for #AlertoKaPROBINSYAnihan.
Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David has issued directives to conduct practical measures that guarantee the safety of both locals and tourists during this season. Local and regional line agencies responsible for maintaining peace and order have been mobilized, emphasizing the importance of La Union PROBINSYAnihan.
After the operations briefing today, March 29, 2024, the PDRRMO and Provincial Health Office deployed roving and stationed medical and emergency teams across areas expected to experience high foot traffic, including beaches, highways, and churches in all LGUs. Moreover, assets such as emergency vehicles, water crafts, and medical and first aid supplies were also deployed.
Furthermore, all frontline offices of the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) are activated and prepared to deliver health and emergency services throughout the Semana Santa and SumVac period. The PDRRMO also ensures that La Union Emergency Hotline 911 is operating 24/7.
The PGLU and Gov. Rafy would like to emphasize to everyone to prioritize safety during the long weekend, underscoring the commitment of the province towards ensuring a secure and enjoyable environment for both residents and visitors alike.
