The Philippine Councilors League (PCL) - La Union Chapter headed by its President, Board Member Ruperto A. Rillera Jr., held its first Officers Quarterly Meeting via Zoom on August 20, 2020 to update the current status of the chapter and to discuss and layout the plan for the upcoming PCL Week Celebration and possible CoViD-19 related programs.
Topics discussed during the meeting were the plan to conduct a Webinar on how to manage emotional stress and the proposed unified resolutions and ordinances among all Local Government Units in the province calling for the strict implementation of all CoViD-19 programs.
As for the celebration of the PCL Week on September 1-7, 2020, it was approved to have the celebration per LGU but subject to the strict adherence on the anti-CoViD-19 guidelines in holding mass gatherings and programs.
BM Rillera took over as Provincial Chapter President on March 1, 2020 as former president Ma. Rosario Eufrosina “Chary” P. Nisce vacated her seat as she assumed office as Vice Mayor of the City of San Fernando. By virtue of said position, Rillera sits as an Ex-Officio Member in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic in early March which prompted the national government to declare an enhanced community quarantine, the PCL-LU chapter was not able to conduct its 2nd quarterly meeting which was supposed to be conducted on May and resorted to online platforms such as Facebook and messenger as means of communication.
