In celebration of World Wildlife Day 2025 with the theme โWildlife Conservation Finance: Investing in People and Planet,โ the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the Provincial Government โ Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) initiated the conduct of avian influenza surveillance through oropharyngeal swabbing in wild migratory and wild resident birds in Barangay Raois, Sto. Tomas, La Union which all yielded negative for Bird Flu results as reported by the Department of Agriculture (DA) Region 1 during the 1st quarter Environmental Management Coordinatorโs Meeting on March 28, 2025.
