Ortega III to the Department of Education’s Progressive Expansion of Face-to-Face classes, 389 public and private schools in the province have been approved to implement this learning modality allowing learners from kindergarten to grade 12 join limited in-person classes this school year.

With life support training as a vital life skill that provides an individual the knowledge of dealing with medical emergencies, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) and Provincial Health Office (PHO) and in partnership with the Department of Health Region 1, conducted a three-day comprehensive training course on Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support (SFA-BLS) for PGLU Health and Safety Officers along with some personnel of the PHO and Balaoan District Hospital. This was conducted on April 25-27, 2022 at the PDRRMO Training Hall, Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union.

In preparation for the upcoming rainy season, the Municipality of San Juan requested to the Provincial Government of La Union, through the Provincial Engineer’s Office headed by Engr. Ressie A. Estrella, to excavate and open the estuary at Brgy. Taboc, San Juan, La Union which will serve as rain water passage and outlet. The said operation started yesterday, April 26, 2022 and shall be completed by April 28, 2022.
The Balay Namnama (Bahay Pag-asa) located in Sta. Rita, Bacnotan, La Union is set to operate and start admitting Children-in-Conflict with the Law (CICL) on May 2, 2022. In preparation for this momentous event, the Provincial Government of La Union through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office conducted an orientation for Barangay/Municipal Council for the Protection of Children (B/MCPC) officers and members including residents from the neighborhood on April 26, 2022 inside the said facility.
