Twenty-seven students from the province of La Union showcased their creativity and care for the environment by taking part in the Infographics Making Contest initiated by the Provincial Government – Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) last June 2022. The infographics making contest, which is part of the month-long celebration of the Philippine Environment Month, is focused on the importance of air quality management in the Philippines.

The efforts of the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) to protect and promote the welfare and interests of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) in the province during the pandemic was recognized by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Regional Welfare Office I (OWWA RWO1) during their celebration of the 27th Migrant Worker’s Day or Araw ng Pasasalamat 2022 held on June 20, 2022 at the J & V Hotel and Resort, City of San Fernando, La Union.

As part of the smooth governance transition for the year 2022, the Provincial Government of La Union and the La Union Medical Center (LUMC) continue to plan strategies to sustain the development of its medical services and its employee’s welfare to better serve the constituents of the Province.

Barangays Ubbog in Bangar and Al-alinao Norte, in Naguilian, La Union including two Provincial Nurseries are are now more capable in the proper management of biodegradable and agricultural wastes after the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) turned over to them bio-shredders and dual drum composter on June 20, 2022 at at the Mabanag Compound, City of San Fernando, La Union.

The Multi-Sectoral Governance Council (MSGC) of the Province of La Union paid a courtesy visit to Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III on June 20, 2022, at the Office of the Provincial Governor, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.

As an advocate of Reproductive and Environmental Health, Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society (POGS) Junior Member and La Union Chapter Member Representative Dr. Cherrymae B. Belarmino of the Naguilian District Hospital (NDH), spearheaded a tree planting activity dubbed as “Plant a Tree for the Unborn” on June 20, 2022.
