As part of the celebration of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Week, the Local Economic Enterprise and Investment Promotions Unit (LEEIPU) of La Union conducted a two-day Trade Bazaar for the local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from the province on July 22-23, 2022 in front of the La Union Agri-Tourism Building (PasaLUbong Center), City of San Fernando, La Union.

To ensure the safety and security of tourists in the province, Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Committee Chair on Tourism, Board Member (BM) Joy R. Ortega spearheaded a spot check in random tourism accommodation establishments in San Juan, La Union on July 22, 2022 to check on their compliance to Provincial Ordinance 083-2016, otherwise known as the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) Ordinance.

Matagumpay na nagtapos ang 36 na bagong rescuers ng Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) noong July 22, 2022 na ginanap sa PDRRMO Emergency Operations Center, Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union mula sa kanilang dalawang linggong pagsasanay upang maging isang ganap na taga-sagip sa panahon ng sakuna sa probinsya.

Governor Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David officiated the induction of the new set of officers of the Provincial Agricultural and Fisheries Council (PAFC) on July 21, 2022 at the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAg) Conference Room, Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union. The induction of new officers was done during PAFC’s General Assembly where Provincial Executive/Sectoral Committee Officers, Local Government Unit (LGU) Chairpersons, and other stakeholders attended.

SP CONDUCTS COMMITTEE HEARING ON ROSALDO GRAD CASE; BM JOY ORTEGA UPHOLDS STUDENTS’ RIGHTS

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Committee on Education headed by Board Member (BM) Cynthia Bacurnay conducted a committee hearing on July 21, 2022 at the SP Building, City of San Fernando, La Union. The discussion revolved on possible legislative measures that may arise from the case of John Rosaldo, a nursing graduate from Lorma Colleges who went viral on social media after his sibling posted about him being deprived of his privilege to march on stage during his graduation day last June 23 due to unprocessed graduation fee.
