The La Union Provincial Jail (LUPJ) was visited by the International Centennial Pilgrim Image of Our Lady of Fatima to give hope and inspiration to the inmates on July 16, 2018 at Camansi, City of San Fernando, La Union.

Activities done during the visit were praying of the Holy Rosary, consecration prayers and imposition of the scapular to 79 inmates and LUPJ personnel. During the visit, inmates were participative and others were very emotional as they offer their personal intercession to the Blessed Mother.

During the Jubilee and Centenary Year of Our Lady of Fatima, Pope Francis blessed and conferred the title International Centennial Pilgrim Image of Our Lady of Fatima to six statues, before sending them to tour in six continents. These centennial statues of Our Lady are to visit parishes and dioceses to remind everyone that prayer and reparation are the solutions the Blessed Mother gave to the world for peace and sanctity of family life.

A total of 22 countries were visited by the International Pilgrim Images in 2017 which brought about consecration of families from 700 parishes and thousands of individuals in her visits to orphanages, homes for the aged, hospitals, rehabilitation centers and prisons.
